God Knows Where
A podcast from a recovering Baptist pastor exploring the richness and complexity of Christian faith by untangling it from hollow, institutional religion. Whether you're deconstructing, reconstructing, or just remodeling your childhood faith, host Brett Harris offers space to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and recover hope, knowing that, while we might wonder what this all means and where life is leading us as we wander through it, God knows where.
Join Brett each week for a new episode that's perfectly timed for your morning commute, evening meal prep, or even just a walk around the block. God Knows Where
Offshoot: Doubting Thomas and The Birth of the Church
Welcome to God Knows Where. I’m Brett Harris. In this space between the series we wrapped up last week and what’s ahead came the Sunday when we celebrate the birth of the Church: Pentecost, so I figured I’d share my take on Pentecost.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what this thing we call Church is all about, what it’s for, and what a gathered community is supposed help us do. You know? Easy questions with simple answers. More to come on all this in the weeks to come.
But for now, here’s my take on Pentecost as it relates to a different story of when the Holy Spirit arrives to the community of folks who followed Jesus after his death than the one we’re use to reading. Hope you enjoy today’s episode!
